Moneta ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Moneta mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the App. It is designed to meet the disclosure requirements of the Google Play Data Safety section and Apple App Store Privacy (Privacy Nutrition Labels), and to give you a clear picture of your privacy choices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly, that we generate to run the App, and that third-party services may collect on our behalf.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you sign in (e.g. with Google or Apple), we receive your email address, name (if provided), and a user ID so we can manage your account and sync your data across devices. This is required if you use cloud sync or premium subscriptions.
  • Financial data: Transactions, categories, budgets, recurring entries, and similar data you enter in the App. This is used only to provide the App's functionality (e.g. charts, reports, AI insights) and is not sold or used for advertising.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically or by Third-Party Services

Device and usage data: We and our service providers may collect:

  • Device identifiers (e.g. Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS when permitted) for analytics and for showing ads in the free version of the App.
  • Usage data (e.g. screen views, feature usage) to improve the App and fix issues.
  • Crash and diagnostics data to improve stability (e.g. via Firebase Crashlytics).

This data may be collected by Google (Firebase, AdMob), RevenueCat, and OpenAI as described in Section 4. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (e.g. "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS, "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).

2.3 Data We Do Not Sell

We do not sell your personal information or financial data to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the App: Run the App, sync your data across devices, manage your account, and deliver features such as expense tracking, budgets, reports, and AI-powered insights.
  • Process subscriptions: Manage premium subscriptions (e.g. via RevenueCat and Apple/Google in-app purchase systems).
  • Improve the App: Analyze usage and fix crashes to improve performance and experience.
  • Advertising: In the free version, show ads (e.g. via AdMob). You can control ad personalization in your device settings.
  • Security and fraud prevention: Authenticate users and help protect against misuse.

We do not use your financial data or AI conversation content for advertising or to train third-party AI models in a way that identifies you.

4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We use the following types of third-party services. Data is shared only as needed to operate the App and as described below. We encourage you to read each provider's privacy policy.

AI features: When you use AI chat or insights, your query and relevant context (e.g. spending summaries) are sent to OpenAI's API. We configure our use so your data is not used to train OpenAI's public models. AI conversation history may be stored locally or on our systems only to show your history in the App.

Advertising: Ad providers may use device identifiers and related data for ad delivery and measurement. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the providers above and as required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption in transit: Data sent between the App and our (or our providers') servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS.
  • Secure storage: Sensitive data (e.g. auth tokens) is stored using secure storage mechanisms on your device and in our backend services.
  • Access controls: Access to personal and financial data is limited to what is necessary to operate the App and support you.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to protect your data.

6. Data Retention and Your Rights

6.1 Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law).

6.2 Deletion and "Right to Be Forgotten"

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:

  1. In the App: Go to Settings → Profile (or Account) → Delete Account and follow the instructions to permanently remove your data.
  2. By email: Contact us at support@techcanvas.com with the subject "Delete my account" and we will process your request within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days).

After deletion, your personal data, financial records, and account information will be removed from our systems and, where feasible, from our service providers' systems in line with their policies.

6.3 Other Rights

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, correction, portability, or restriction of processing). To exercise them, contact us at support@techcanvas.com. We will respond in line with applicable law.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under that age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@techcanvas.com and we will take steps to delete that information.

8. International Data and Jurisdiction

Our services may be provided using infrastructure or service providers in different countries. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those locations, subject to applicable law. Our Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of law rules.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may notify you in the App or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the App after the updated policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the changes.
